How to Book

What are your first thoughts when looking at the sculpture on the corner of Strömgatan and Drottninggatan? You see a fox with its baby trying to protect it with a rag. Protecting it from the cold, curious looks, the cruel world or all of them.  We do not know. The sculptor, Laura Ford, named it “Rag and bones”, in Swedish Hemlös räv. The choice of where the sculpture should stand was given to the people, who voted it should be placed between the Houses of Parliament and the Government headquarters.

Wenn man zur Ecke Strömngatan und Drottninggatan kommt, schaut man mit Sicherheit
nicht lange in Richtung dieser Bettlergestalt, die vor dem Rosenbad hockt.

Wer aber doch genauer hinschaut wird festellen, daß es sich hierbei um eine Skulptur aus
Bronze handelt. Ein obdachloser Fuchs in Lumpen. Diese Skulptur ist ein Werk
der amerikanischen Künstlerin Laura Ford und wurde im Jahre 2008 von der Stadt
Stockholm eingekauft. Per Abstimmung entschieden die Stockholmer Einwohner
damals über den jetzigen Standpunkt der Skulptur. Im Schlossgarten von Bad
Homburg in Hessen ist eine ganze Reihe dieser „Lumpensammler” zu sehen. Dachs,
Igel und Fuchs in unterschiedlichen Posen.
