Photo stoRy for today™ – “Rag and bones” and its stoRy

08.02.2014

What are your first thoughts when looking at the sculpture on the corner of Strömgatan and Drottninggatan? You see a fox with its baby trying to protect it with a rag.

Protecting it from the cold, curious looks, the cruel world or all of them.  We do not know. The sculptor, Laura Ford, named it “Rag and bones”, in Swedish Hemlös räv. The choice of where the sculpture should stand was given to the people, who voted it should be placed between the Houses of Parliament and the Government headquarters.
