StockholmSubwaystoRy #17 – Hallonbergen

24.04.2016

Hallonbergen is today’s entry in our StockholmSubwaystoRy! The station was opened in 1975 in Sundbyberg and it serves the blue line in the metro system.

This is truly one of the stations that you need to check out when you visit Stockholm. Hallonbergen is known for its white and large cave filled with children drawings.

Despite being around 28 meters underground, the name – Hallonbergen – means Raspberry Mountain in Swedish and fits the general fairy tale atmosphere around the station.

The project was coordinated by Elis Eriksson and Gösta Wallmark and among the sculptures and drawings within the station one can find real childhood drawings of the coordinators and their children.

Keep up with our Stockholm Subway stoRy by checking the blog on every Sunday and take a look at the past entries here.
